Indian Government has announced some relaxations in Aug-Sept 2021, and most of the companies, schools, colleges, and industries were start operating with new-normal restrictions. It was smooth, as the government has announced that India has reached 100 cores vaccination.
During the new-normal period, the packing and moving industries were gained a huge profit because most of the companies started their operating almost after two years, and their employees were called to join their respective positions. As result, employees were started shifting their households from one city to another, and it was a huge gain in the packers and movers industry due to this sudden demand, especially in metro cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.
The logistic industry in India is going through severe loss due to a new variation of the Covid-19, Omicron attack. Night curfews are imposed in most of the cities in India including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra and Kolkata. Movements are restricted at night in these cities and intra-city relocation and shifting are delayed due to this reason. Ashish Nirwan. Managing Director of Shifting Master Packers and Movers in Hyderabad quoted that “we are unable to move our goods from one city to another. Our major shipments, especially car, bike, vehicle, and industrial equipment are mostly in transition mode during the night, and we cannot conduct such shipment and supply chain management due to such restrictions imposed by state governments. As a result, we are facing a huge loss and it is very difficult to retain our customers, especially corporate houses.”
Airfreight logistic supply is the only possible way to ship goods from one state to another during this Omicron stage, which has increased the cost of shipment. Ashish said that “small companies and individuals cannot afford to pay a huge amount to shift their household goods, and we use to shift their goods through roadways, which is almost not possible during this stage.” So, it is a clear indication that packers and movers in India will face a huge loss, and the logistic industry has to bear this pain. “Hope, it will be shorted and the government will allow non-essentials during night curfew, and we are expecting such news for a special relaxation for the logic industry.”
